Ian Kingsley is a writer.

My typical working day starts after breakfast, at around 8:30am, with checking out emails connected with my travel website synergise.com

This involves editing and adding travel articles from contributors and writing my own travel articles. The site aims to give people an inside view of different worldwide destinations which might appeal for vacations. My other job is as a novelist, and I am very busy at the moment promoting my debut novel, a psychological thriller called “Sandman.” I also try to think of something new for my blog.

Promoting a novel is very much a hands-on task these days, so I wade through an endless 'to-do' list from phoning booksellers, visiting booksellers, online promotion, etc. It would be nice to concentrate on writing the next book, but finding the time at the moment is difficult with everything else going on. I am really pleased with initial feedback on the novel, published in August 2010, especially the early reader reviews on Amazon.com and bestselling author Sophie King's cover endorsement of: '”A gripping psychological read with characters that reach out and grab you. A real page turner.”

The book's  setting, is Mudeford Sandbank, famed for having some of the most expensive beach huts in the world. Some have made up to £120,000 because of its natural beauty and almost island-like setting on a narrow sandbank between the sea and Christchurch Harbour. I usually take our dog out for a walk in this area, often with my wife, a place we all love - and which I describe in some detail, with pictures.

Ian now lives on the south coast of England and you can find out more about him at iankingsley.com
